About Our Studio

Limelight Recording Studio is a home-based digital recording facility located in Edmonton, Alberta. The studio focuses its work on aspired local independent bands and solo artists. The basement facility is fully renovated and acoustically treated for professional tracking and post-production work. The recording room is a spacious 12’ x 14’ enclosed space, with line-of-sight to the control room through the double-paned window.

The studio is well equipped and capable of producing a full band with the ability to track a full drum set and multiple instruments simutaneously. The heart of the studio setup is an Intel Core 2 Duo digital audio workstation utilizing the latest Steinberg Cubase 5 music production software.

The front-end of the DAW is the Tascam TM-D8000 digital console providing preamps, routing and monitoring purposes. Additional preamp include ART Digital MPA and three Neve-clone ACMP-73. M-Audio Delta 1010LT is used to interface between the digital audio workstation and the mixer console. The main monitors are the KRK Rokit RP-6 and the Roland DM-10, along with other referencing stereos. With the multi-channels headphone amplifier, artists in the tracking room can listen to headphones (AKG, Fostex) signals independent of the control room monitors for different recording requirements. The acoustically treated recording room is carefully designed to minimize unwanted signals or noise being recorded or heard.

The studio uses microphones from Shure, Studio Project, Audiotechnica, TnC ACM, Apex, Behringer...etc. There are many other gears in the studio that are available for use to fulfill all the recording needs.
